Please be aware that the Colorado Chapter of Muskies, Inc., a non-profit conservation and education organization, will have a booth at the upcoming All-Canada Show, Feb 15-17 in Omaha, NE. Though it is a Colorado chapter seeking to attain new members, my purpose at the booth will be to attempt to start a new NEBRASKA CHAPTER. At the Show, or through correspondance, we will be gathering names of interested anglers.
If we get enough names, we'll be in business! Many of you have written me in support of such an idea. Now's the time to stand up and be counted. If you are an avid Musky angler, or pike angler for that matter, please consider joining me in starting a new chapter of this great organization here in Nebraska.
NGP has the beginnings of a good Musky fishery; together, we can make it great. For those of you not familiar with Muskies, Inc., it is a non-profit conservation/education organization with 7500 members, 47 local Chapters, in 13 States (LETS BE #14!!). It's an active, service-oriented, non-profit organization for men, women and children with the single focus of improving the sport of muskie fishing everywhere the fish are found.
The main focus of Muskies, Inc. is Youth, Fisheries, and Research. "OK, so What's in it for me?" By joining us in Muskies, Inc. you will become a member of one of our 48 independent local chapters throughout the country. Monthly Chapter meetings will often include seminars featuring muskie guides, conservation authorities, tackle manufacturers, State Fisheries personell, or other fishing industry personalities to help members sharpen their angling skills and increase enjoyment on the water.
Muskies, Inc. has a website muskiesinc.org that includes TONS of muskie information as well as an on-line store.
Members have access to areas of the website that include very active bulletin boards, a database of more then 185,000 catches with statistics that can be displayed by lures, lakes, time of year, etc., special discounts on hotels and car rentals, and information from other chapters and members.
Each Muskies, Inc. household receives our monthly magazine, MUSKIE, featuring tips, techniques, and travel ideas, as well as product information, member photos, and local chapter and tournament reports. Stories and articles in MUSKIE are written by members, for members, with information for new and experienced alike. If you plan on attending, please stop by the Colorado Muskies Inc. booth and say, "hello". We'd love to see you there, put faces to names, and talk MUSKIES!
