Ice Fishing on Roy Lake

Late ice fishing has started and some very nice northerns, perch and crappies as well as some walleyes have come in this last week. It should pick up again the end of this week after we recover from the snow system that went thru this last weekend.
Ice is still about 4 feet, although not the best quality of ice, people are still driving. Be cautious wherever you go.
Snow Geese are arriving in the area and I even saw a few thousand ducks flying. Action is starting to happen and the next few weeks could get exciting. Call if you are coming. We will set up your lodging, and point you in the right direction. Don’t forget our great guide service with Matt. He is very good and will provide you with great and successful hunt. We are in the process of setting up a guide page on our web site which will give you more information. I hope to have it finished next week.
January was pretty good fishing, mostly pan fish. February really slowed down due to 2-3 fronts coming in a week and it put quite a damper on the fishing. The cold weather helped build the ice backup and most people are driving out. This week the fishing seems to be picking up with northerns and Small Mouth Bass. The northerns brought in this week were up to 18 lbs. The Smallies were up to 5 lbs. What a hoot. Panfish are picking up again. With warmer temperatures coming I am hoping that we will start to see fantastic late ice fishing...
