On Memorial Day weekend, the city of Dubuque, IA will host a monumental event that will draw people from across the country, from Washington State to Washington D.C. -- Cabela's National Team Championship Walleye Tournament & Expo held from May 27-29, 2005.
Since its inception in 2001, Cabela's National Team Championship has become the tournament around which the country's finest walleye anglers plan their competition year. More than 65,000 men and women from more than 30 states vie to qualify their team and represent their local association. The qualifying event is unmatched in size and popularity, growing bigger and more memorable each year. The prestigious championship attracts only the most serious anglers, both hopeful participants and eager spectators, with attendance anticipated at more than 30,000 this year. In addition, Cabela's National Team Championship Walleye Tournament is introducing their expanded informative, interactive Expo at this year's event. The NTC Expo is designed to be the cornerstone of an event that has already established itself as the leading tournament of its kind nationwide.
